Paypal is seeking to hire more than 50 cryptocurrency and blockchain related positions as global cryptocurrency adoption rises.
According to their job postings at the time of writing, there are 52 blockchain related jobs available in the United States, 4 in Israel, 2 in Ireland, 1 in Hong Kong and 1 in Singapore.
More than half of the job listings are with relations to Legal Compliance, with only a total of 10 jobs related to Software Development and Blockchain Security, showing that the company is gearing up to be fluent in cryptocurrency compliance before mass adoption.
New roles were added earlier today as PayPal look to fill public policies and tax related roles.
This comes two weeks after PayPal increased weekly cryptocurrency purchase limits to $100,000 from the previous $20,000 where users are able to now buy up to 5 times the usual amount of Bitcoin and other digital assets, signaling PayPal’s further commitment into the digital space.
With the announcement of a super app and open banking integration, it seems that PayPal (along with many banks and global companies) is preparing itself for a future where cryptocurrency is here to stay.
Other than PayPal, Amazon is also currently looking for a Digital Currency and Blockchain Product Lead. This suggests that the company is taking a more serious outlook on adopting cryptocurrency as a staple in its business.
